Make Believe - The Pink 7” (2004)

Side A: The Vampire’s Lament To His Nurse

Side B: Each Day Is Different and The Same As Cocks

Label: Flameshovel Records

Matrix: DIG023

Encoding: 48 kHz / 24 bit, V0 MP3

Found this at Reckless Records in Chicago a little over a year ago. The B-side on this record is fantastic, Bobby Burg’s vocal contribution for the chorus of this track is very fitting. And of course, Sam Zurick’s guitar work on both sides of this release are simply incredible.

This record isn’t a terrific way to introduce yourself with this particular Kinsella project, I would recommend checking out their self-titled EP or their first LP “Shock of Being” for a more proper introduction. Regardless of where you start, Make Believe is a very unappreciated project from these Chicago guys, and in my opinion Make Believe is exactly what Tim needed to do after the very poor album “Eventually, All At Once” by Joan of Arc.
